Pricing

Pricing for longarm quilting of overall design of your completed quilt top is $.015 per square inch. Binding cost is $.15 per linear inch around perimeter of quilt for machine binding (attached to back and then machine stitched to front of quilt), $.25 per inch for hand stitched binding (machine stitched to front of quilt and then hand stitched to back of quilt). Binding will be approximately 3/8” finished width with mitered corners.

A rush service charge of 25% may be applied at your request for faster service during holiday seasons.

Not included in the quilting prices are: batting, backing, binding, thread, pressing, seaming, etc. Remember Quilts is not responsible for folds or tucks in quilting due to excess fullness in borders or other errors in piecing of quilt top. 

There is a $40.00 minimum charge on all orders for quilting only. Additional charges may be applied for batting, etc.

T-Shirt Quilt Pricing

To determine the cost of your T-shirt quilt we will multiply .085 cents times the square inches in your quilt. For example, if the quilt top measures 48" square, your cost will be $195.84 (48" x 48" = 2,304 x $.085 = $195.84). Before the shirts are cut into blocks it would be difficult to get a cost estimate. Therefore, we will contact you when we have determined the size based on the shirts you send. You can then decide if you want the quilt finished at that size or if you would rather we use fewer blocks/shirt designs. Please be careful to indicate if there are portions of screen printed shirt designs you do not want included in your quilt. We'll call you with the cost estimate before we proceed.

We take pride in our work and every block is backed with a very lightweight fusible interfacing to stabilize the fabric and eliminate distortion due to stretching of the knit fabric. We then use a meander overall stitch design to quilt your keepsake. Please see photo above. This attractive quilting method stabilizes your quilt for years and years of use.

Memory Quilt Pricing

Because Memory quilts are assembled in crazy quilt block designs, any number of apparel items can be included in the quilt. Fabric from some items may be included more than once. To determine the cost of your memory quilt we will multiply 15 cents times the square inches in your quilt. For example, if the quilt top measures 48" square, your cost will be $345.60 (48" x 48" = 2,304" x .15 = $345.60).

Borders, Backing, Sashing and Binding

The border is the fabric framing the quilt blocks and the backing is the fabric on the back of the quilt. The Memory quilts also feature sashing which is the fabric between the blocks. The binding is the narrow piece of folded fabric applied to finish the edges of the quilt. All four will be in the same color unless you specify otherwise.

We have a wide variety of colors to choose from but if you want something other than a standard color, please send a swatch. For example; navy, hunter green, red, orange, etc. are basics but a color like teal or mauve may be more difficult to identify. You can get a swatch from a paint chip, from one of your apparel items or even out of a magazine.

The binding can be the same color as the border and backing or it can be a contrasting color. For example, if the quilt is for a high school graduate you could use the darker of the two school colors for the back and border and the other school color on the binding. The T-shirt quilt pictured here has the same color border, backing (not visible) and binding. T-shirt quilts do not have sashing.

Ordering fabric and batting from Remember Quilts

We carry a wide range of fabrics in solid colors for borders, sashing, backing and binding as well as Quilter’s Dream® batting.

Solid colored fabric for backing, sashing, borders and bindings are 45" wide and are available in standard colors. The cost is $6.50 per yard. Quilter’s Dream® batting is available in widths of 60” and 96" and is $6.00 and $9.00 per yard respectively. Of course, if you choose you may send your own fabric and batting. Remember, the backing and the batting must be at least 3” larger than the quilt top on all four edges. This is very important!
