T-Shirt Quilts

We can take your souvenir T-Shirts and make them into a beautiful and functional quilt like the ones pictured here. All you need to do is send the T-shirts, choose a border, backing and binding color and we’ll do the rest. We base the quilt blocks on a 4” square, meaning that every block is divisible by 4. Since there are many possible block sizes based on the designs in your shirts, this is an accurate way to cut them knowing they will all fit together.

What parts of the T-shirts can we use? Just about any part! Front, back, sleeve and even the neckline. We can use a front and a back from the same shirt. We can also use designs printed on knit pants or shorts. And yes, we can use sweatshirts and sports jerseys, too.

You only want to use certain parts of your T-shirts? No problem. Mark the parts you do not want us to include in your quilt. Please write notes on masking tape and apply to designs or areas you do not want us to use. If it is not marked, we will include it in your quilt.

Can photographs be used in T-shirt quilts? Yes. You can find companies online to send photo images to electronically. They will print the images onto T-shirts. If you search online photo T-shirt transfers you will have many options to choose from. They look good and the prices are reasonable. Another option is to check with your local photocopy shop to see if they provide this service.

Your shirts are already cut? Not a problem. Chances are lots of the designs will be cut into block sizes we cannot use. In that case we mount the odd shape and small piece onto T-shirt fabric and proceed as usual. You cannot tell without looking very closely that the pieces were reset for our block sizes.

T-shirts are not the only things that can go into a T-shirt quilt, but some items may restrict washing options, may not have the long-term durability of a T-shirt or may impose a risk of the dye bleeding so consider each item carefully.

Ordering Information

Please do not cut your shirts; we will do that. After the T-shirts are cut, we will call you with the quilt dimensions possible from your shirts. At this time you can decide to accept the dimensions of the quilt or you can add or remove shirts until the quilt is to your liking.

It will take 6 to 8 weeks for us to complete your quilt. We will notify you if your quilt requires more time.

Is the quilt a Christmas gift? For guaranteed Christmas delivery your shirts must be at Remember Quilts by September 25. If it is past September 25, call us because we may still have enough time to make your quilt depending on our workload.

For graduation quilts T-shirts need to be received 8 weeks before the quilt is needed. Please note that graduation time is our busiest time and the earlier you get your shirts to us the better. Again, if time is shorter than 8 weeks, please call in case our schedule allows. E-mail any time or call any day between 7:30 am and 6:00 pm PST.

Campus Quilts

If your high school or college student would like a quilt from their alma mater, we have just the thing! All you have to do is send jpegs of their school logos (1 or 2, please), tell us the school colors and we'll take it from there.

Finished quilt measures approximately 70" x 90" and is made of 100% cotton with screen printed designs applied. The quality batting is 70% cotton/30% polyester. The quilt is machine quilted and will last for many years to come. Machine washable.

Alma mater quilts sell for $300. Please allow 4-6 weeks delivery time.
